Arch madness! Mesa, Landscape, and Double O

Me and my minions at mesa arch.

Moab is known for it’s arches. My heart belongs to Delicate Arch, but there are some other very nice ones around town 🙂

Mesa Arch (above) is pretty famous. But the downside is that we had to WAIT IN LINE for this pic. Moving on..

Landscape Arch is iconic. It’s the longest arch on the planet! You can visit it at Arches National Park on a (very crowded) hike called Devils Garden. The arch was very cool — I hope it sticks around for a while, but it’s looking a little precarious.

Here she is! Landscape Arch xoxo

Next up was Double O Arch. This arch can be reached also via Devils Garden loop, but it’s an extension of the hike, a slightly more scary/strenuous route. The crowds really dropped at this point. Yay!!

En route LOVE!
Yeh!!! OO Arch

Turning 40 isn’t so bad 🙂

Love this place!

Arches just flat out rules!

Devil’s Garden loop was really fun! The crowds were a bit crazy on the main loop — but spread out on the harder side arch trips. I really think this is a great hike for people of all ages!

  • I was lucky enough to visit Moab from the UK one winter week over 10 years ago and adored the 3 parks around there. I had no idea that it was rare not to see people on the Mesa Arch. I had to wait for people to come by so my photo had scale! Loved this post reminding me of a very special week. I was on my own so at every park asked the park rangers for advice on short walks (I wanted walks that took no more than 90 minutes so I could see more) and they were very helpful. And I loved the one who recommended a walk and then said \”don't worry – if we see the Vultures circling we'll send a search party\” – love that humour.
